  • All You Want To Be

Posted on December 7th, 2009 PoeticScoundrel No comments

It’s hard to start, but easy to conceive,
ideas come with every turn, but which one to believe?
Even when you find it, which way do you go,
perhaps there’s nothing you can do, you just have to let it flow.
Long and hard this road, to take you to the top,
can’t stop, must push against the lot and give it all you’ve got.
Dream big and even bigger, to a size you can’t even see,
chase it don’t ever stop, be all you want to be.

  • It’s Been A Difficult Week

Posted on December 7th, 2009 PoeticScoundrel No comments

    It’s been a difficult week,
not least I’ve had no sleep,
and my body is feeling weak,
plus my mind is starting to creek.
Hot flushes, a headache or two,
why so difficult to control your mind when it’s you,
What to do? To stop these feelings passing through.
Sometimes it’s easier to manage your mind,
but so many times it can be difficult to unwind.
    Can’t stop the grind,
if there’s an answer, where to find?

  • Pressure Reduction

Posted on December 7th, 2009 PoeticScoundrel No comments

Why do you feel this pressure?
It doesn’t help you in any way.
All it does is drain your resources,
    physically and emotionally every day.
You must learn to switch off,
be comfortable with who you are.
Do it and keep on doing it,
and you’re sure to go far.
Work when you need to work,
play when you need to play.
But be sure to switch off your mind,
to refresh yourself in every way.

Posted on October 29th, 2009 PoeticScoundrel No comments

Time will pass, alas so fast,
so make sure to make the moments last.
Remember, but never regret the past,
and don’t let it control what comes to pass.
For what the future holds is bright and bold,
for those who let their passions unfold.
So use your time before your old,
As living your dreams is life’s true gold.

Youtube is an amazing place, but it can be like a zoo.
Sh$t videos with a million hits, and great ones with only two.
Plus what is this obsession, with people talking s$it,
set-up and turn on your camera and shout straight into it.
Bitching about Kanye, Lindsay and anything in the news,
why do we care so much these blogger views.

My Dell Laptop is slow, it’s very slow.
With daily grind I’ve become it’s hoe.
It comes with me wherever I go,
and the battery always seems to be low.
A useful tool or emotional curse?
So often it’s errors bring out the worst.
We’ll see if it helps out today,
or sparks frustration in every way.

  • Lost Spark

Posted on July 7th, 2009 PoeticScoundrel No comments

It tears you down; it pulls your teeth,
but never, never allow it to defeat,
your reason and wonder should ward of the heat,
this raging feeling you must work hard to beat.

It will strip you down, make you feel weak,
It will try to distract you from what you seek,
and sometimes make you feel a freak,
yet never, never let your nerve creak.

For you have time to make your mark,
if you find inside your beating heart,
the distant light that will take you through the dark,
so you can shine and find again your spark.

For a dream can become reality,
but first it must be heard.

just watch I’ll do it one more time…

    Turulent world and turbulent times,
for this is why I write my rhymes.
So many choices, so many signs,
yet often trapped in life’s structured binds.
What choices, what’s next, what do I choose,
to ensure the wins and never lose.
To walk or cruise in paying dues,
turning every can’t into can dos.

  • Demon Friend

Posted on April 16th, 2009 PoeticScoundrel No comments

The demon friend I love then hate,
the kind of friend you don’t advocate.
At any rate, it can change your state,
this friend I would not advocate.
For enjoying one will lead to three,
from gentle buzz to stinging bee.
    A pint, a bottle, a barrel, a crate,
a friend that I should not advocate.
Enjoyed with friends or sipped alone,
for many it can change the tone.
Leading to a good or evil state,
a friend I should not advocate.
    However, so many can relate,
as the realisation always comes too late.
And the hangover is a chosen fate,
from the demon drink we love then hate.

  • Jealous of Time

Posted on April 10th, 2009 PoeticScoundrel No comments

    Why be so unkind,
    And stifle the creative mind.
    Why not just unwind,
And let those people have their time.
Or guide them with your know,
Let them flow, and help them grow.
Better to walk along that line,
Let the people have their time.
    As jealousy can run rife,
    Looking back upon your life.
But this could be a sign,
If you help, it could be your time.

  • Obsessed

Posted on April 10th, 2009 PoeticScoundrel No comments

    We seem to be obsessed,
    keep watching more not less.
    Even when it’s not best,
should this be cause for stress?
    Exposure so much exposure,
    for all these many posers.
It seems what so many want,
will eventually come back to haunt.
For these aspirations are not healthy,
it’s not a great way to be.
    Perhaps in time you’ll see,
that we’ve become too obsessed, with minor celebrity.

My friends lists getting bigger, I’ve got loads of mates online,
I’ve been looking at my network and it’s growing like a vine,
It’s spreading like a wildfire; no one can stop it now,
I’ve become the King of Facebook; it’s time to take a bow.
Now I’ve started tweeting because I’m a celebrity,
I think that the world should know that I’m about to take a pee,
    Yes you’ll see.
You’ll like to read about me.
    ’cause it’s free,
and I’m sure you’d like to know I’m on my third cup of tea.
Plus I had ham sandwich, but haven’t had a chance to say,
I’ve been so frickin’ busy it’s only my 48th tweet today,…
    No wait, please stay,
ahh…who cares, no ones listening anyway…

  • Deflating

Inflation just hit zero and the ship is going down,
we need another stimulus package says Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
Pump in a few more billion to ensure the banking system’s reform,
create some more jobs so we can weather the financial storm.
We’re going to the edge, but can they stop it from going over,
too late, we need more than a bit of luck and a perfect four leaf clover.
For history has foretold that governments can’t stop it,
as billions disappear trying to catch the falling rocket.

  • Economic Spin

Posted on March 23rd, 2009 PoeticScoundrel No comments

    Economic disaster, a doomsday destined,
but should we also blame the Peston.
The media machine and his type,
drove the bust with negative hype.
While things go up and must come down,
the media can push the world around.
By playing with the human way, disrupting confidence day to day,
a subconscious spin comes into play.
For while it’s true the bankers failed and the economic boom was at it’s tail,
the media told the tale to fail, which helped the economic train de-rail.
The same way that it went too far,
the media accelerates the falling star.

Technology is an amazing thing, when it works it tis a dream,
Yet so often it’s not quite what it seems.
    Version one and v 1.2,
but even version 5 won’t do.
Getting close to version 8, but oops it’s too late,
something new for the mags to rate.
A non-stop cycle of bits and bytes,
everyone fighting to reach new heights.
Buy the newest at the highest price,
six months pass and it won’t suffice.
Comms devices, organization, information and more,
Are we now just technology’s whore?

I’ve set-up my profile on Youbook because Facespace isn’t cool anymore,
I used to be on Metafriend, but that became a bore.
I usually watch clips on MyTube, but IBored is good for babes and boobs.
LinkLives good for business, Meoh and Vebo are full of newbs.
Wittering is the latest thing to communicate with the world,
and there are more than enough dating sites to find the perfect girl.
Poking, chatting, playing, and plenty of status updates,
friends in Asia, New Zealand, and a couple in the States.
Socializing, community, so much fun at the click of a mouse,
maybe one of these days I’ll speak to someone and even leave the house!

Deep in recession, it’s really not a good time,
they keep on taking out more debt could that actually be a crime?
    Is it out of line?
Who will really get the fine?

As we spiral down and down, what really can they do,
to stop this bursting bubble from effecting me and you.
